Shopify themes for brands with something to prove
Kova builds a small number of Shopify themes, slowly. Each one is made for catalogs where the product has to be explained before it can be sold — and held to numbers checked on every commit, not promised in marketing copy.

How we build
Numbers we check, not numbers we claim
Every gate below runs on every commit. When one fails, the change does not ship.
Performance is a build gate
The JavaScript budget is checked by a pre-commit hook and a GitHub Action. If a change pushes the authored bundle past 16 KB minified, the build fails and the change does not ship. A ceiling, not an aspiration.

Accessibility, measured
Contrast ratios, touch targets, keyboard paths and focus order are audited against WCAG 2.1 AA before a section is considered finished.
Structure over decoration
Anyone can ship another hero with a gradient. Our sections exist to carry substance — ingredient references, comparison matrices, documented evidence.
Nothing depends on an app
Every section works with a plain Shopify catalog on the day you install it. Apps can extend a theme through app blocks, but they are never required to make one function.

What we make
Manifest
For catalogs where the product needs explaining.
Evidence-led commerce. Ingredient references, comparison matrices, documented test results, and protocol timelines — the structure to substantiate a claim rather than just make one.

More in development. The next Kova theme is aimed at a different catalog shape entirely. Waitlist members hear about it first.
The studio
One theme at a time, finished properly
-
Slow by design
Kova would rather ship a single theme that passes review than four that nearly do.
-
Documented like software
Every section ships with a settings reference generated from the theme schema itself, so the docs cannot drift from the code.
-
Built for the theme editor
Merchants change everything that matters without touching Liquid. No code edits, no developer on retainer.
-
Supported by the people who built it
Support comes from the studio that wrote the theme, not a ticket queue in another timezone.
