Captures for Product reviews at desktop and mobile widths are generated from a live store by
npm run shots. They appear here automatically once that has run.
When to use it
Product pages, once you have a review app collecting real reviews.
Setting it up
- Add the section to a product template.
- Install a review app from the Shopify App Store.
- Add the app's block inside this section in the theme editor.
- Configure the Rating summary and Empty state groups for how it behaves before reviews exist.
Where the content comes from
The review app owns all review data. The theme owns only the layout and the empty state.
Notes and cautions
- Manifest does not collect or store reviews — that is an app's job, and a theme that did it would fail Theme Store review.
- With no review app installed the section stays empty rather than showing fabricated ratings.
Section settings
Every setting on the section itself, in the order it appears in the theme editor. Group headings match the editor's own grouping.
Add a review app block or Custom Liquid block to show review summaries, submissions, filters, distributions and review listings. Content fills the selected width.
Content
Layout
Standard aligns with the maximum width supported by common review apps.
Pulls content closer to the heading when an app adds its own top spacing. Turn this off if the content overlaps the heading.

Blocks
Blocks are added, reordered, duplicated, and removed inside the section. Each type has its own settings.
Custom Liquid custom_liquid
Add app-provided Liquid or other review content. The section stays hidden on the storefront when this field is empty and no app block is present.
App blocks
This section accepts @app blocks, so apps you install can render inside it
directly from the theme editor. Add the app's block the same way you add a theme block.
