When to use it
Social proof, once you have real quotes with permission to use them.
Setting it up
- Add the section.
- Add a Testimonial block per quote, with the quote and its attribution.
- Choose Content alignment under Layout. Center places the arrows on either side of the quote on desktop. Left lines the heading, quote, and attribution up on the left edge and places the arrows beside the slide counter. On mobile the arrows always sit beside the counter, so the quote can use the full width of the screen.
- Set Mobile header alignment to align the eyebrow and heading on phones independently of the testimonials. It appears once the section has an eyebrow or heading.
Where the content comes from
Blocks own the quotes.
Notes and cautions
- Match Mobile header alignment to Content alignment unless you have a reason not to. A left-aligned heading over centered quotes reads as two different sections.
- Autoplay is on by default; turn off Enable slideshow autoplay under Slideshow to advance only on click. Auto-advancing content requires a pause control under WCAG, and this section ships one. It also pauses while a customer hovers or focuses the carousel, and respects reduced-motion preferences by not moving at all.
- Attribute quotes to real people who agreed to it. Invented testimonials are a Theme Store failure and a legal exposure.
- Star ratings are off by default. Set Rating on a testimonial only when it comes from that customer's actual review. A new block starts with an example quote and no name, so nothing is attributed to a person until you add one.
Section settings
Every setting on the section itself, in the order it appears in the theme editor. Group headings match the editor's own grouping.
Use testimonial blocks for authentic customer feedback, customer context, optional portraits, and ratings.
Content
A decorative 1920 x 1080px image is recommended. A Shopify placeholder appears until you choose an image.
A vertical image is recommended. Leave blank to use the desktop background image.
Increase the overlay when the text needs more contrast against the image.
Layout
Aligns the testimonials and, on desktop, the heading. Center places the arrows beside the quote on desktop. Left places them beside the slide counter.
Slideshow
Customers can pause the slideshow. Autoplay is disabled for reduced-motion preferences.
Style
Blocks
Blocks are added, reordered, duplicated, and removed inside the section. Each type has its own settings.
Testimonial testimonial
Use authentic customer feedback that you can substantiate. Quotes that exceed the display area open in a Read more dialog.
A square image is recommended. Leave blank to show an initial.
